How long have you been a member at Ballard Health Club?
About 4 years - Summer 2018.
What is your favorite piece of equipment or exercise to do in the gym?
Easily hands down SGT! It’s wonderful. My whole body feels so good with SGT. Hattie is right there teaching new things, watching that we are moving correctly and definitely challenging us.
Why do you work out?
I work out to stay mobile and feel better. If I do not work this body with mobility and strength exercise it doesn’t like me much. I just feel and move better with exercise. And there are so many more things I can do at home and in life more easily.
What do you do to work out?
In addition to three of Hattie’s classes currently, (fave is Senior SGT) I like to use barbells for deadlifts, bench press, kettlebells, dumbbells, some machines and mat work—Variety with exercises from SGT thrown in. Variety is a key for me as well as form. Form is a must, my bottom line-reduce risk of injury.
What in the gym has worked for you in attaining your goals?
I am definitely meeting some of my goals and working diligently on others. Fitness trainings, SGT and some personal training sessions have really been super in getting the right form, increasing abilities and strength. Learning more and doing better every day.
Why do you choose to work out at BHC?
BHC for me has been like a home and family. So much care and concern goes into everything done at BHC. During this pandemic I have felt so safe and welcomed. 100% grateful to Pat and all staff for total vaccinated personnel and members, and for completely redoing ventilation and access to keep us healthy.
Anything else you'd like to add?
BHC: just Friendly, good people with no pretensions nor entitlement.
