Enjoying BHC Inside and Out

Dear Members,

Can you believe that Yoga in the Park will start back up this month?  Please tell your friends and family to join us at Sunset Hill Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.  Participants can register on the spot with a smart phone.  We plan to add a Saturday morning class to the schedule as soon as we can get confirmation from the Parks Department.

Yoga fans should bring their own mats and any other props that they like to use for this inclusive practice at one of Seattle’s most appealing yoga venues. Sun block and a water bottle may also come in handy.  As we all know, Seattle weather can be fickle, so I always dress in layers for these classes.

Many of you have been eager to take MJ’s class in Studio Y.  You are probably already aware that MJ will offer a workshop in June. Please plan to join her for restorative yoga and a sound bath in honor of the Summer Solstice on Saturday, June 24th 3:30-5:00PM.  You can sign up using the link below.  https://www.ballardhealthclub.com/register-events

That is not your only opportunity, though.  While MJ continues to teach remotely, we know that some of you want to practice with her in Studio Y.  In order to accommodate you, we will project MJ’s Tuesday/Thursday Open Yoga classes 10:00-11:10 a.m starting on Tuesday, May 9.  You can use the Studio Y space with all its props while you participate in MJ’s online class.

We have one new class to offer this month.  Many of you attended a preview of it in April.  Starting on Thursday, May 4, we will offer PomSquad.  This choreographed workout is open to people of all fitness levels.  Please try it out in Studio Y on Thursdays 7:00-8:00 p.m.

One last thing I’d like to mention is the good will of our local merchants.  Many of them have enthusiastically agreed to support us in celebration of our 25th anniversary.  I hope that you will show them some BHC love by stopping in and doing business with them during the month of June.  You’ll be glad you did because they will display hints for our scavenger hunt challenge.  We will post where to find hints on the scavenger webpage, but you don’t have to wait for that.  Eager scavengers can enjoy some shopping, imbibing, eating, sipping, and more as they watch out for our BHC hints with QR codes that will help you on your hunt.

Happy 25th anniversary!
