Happy New Year

"Life's not about expecting, hoping and wishing, it's about doing, being and becoming." Mike Dooley
Happy New Year! Let’s do this! Let’s make this the year that we create achievable goals that ignite the passion and persistence required to live our best lives. We’re doing everything we can to have your back here at BHC. We’ve added classes, brought on new formats in the studios and we’ve found some really good new instructors to complement our already amazing instructors.
So what do you need to do? Get clear on your fitness goals. Make a workout plan and stick to it. This plan shouldn’t take over your whole life, you need to take time for other types of self-care. Your fitness plan needs to fit into your life simply, start with two times a week for the first month and if you’re ready after that add another day. I can’t tell you this will be easy. It may not be. There will be sacrifices to be made. You may have to give up hanging out on the couch a little, you may have to give up a happy hour or two and it might mean you have to take yourself out of your comfort zone. But it all is worth it if living a healthy lifestyle is your goal. And by the way, hanging out on the couch and going to a happy hour can be a part of your fitness when practiced in moderation. We need rest time and socializing with good people can truly soothe the soul. We just need to find the right balance of all the things that makes us happy and healthy and to actively keep those things part of our daily lives.
As we make these changes, we have to be aware that we change with our changes. And our old habits might need to shift with the new-found habits. Happy hour might change into sunset hikes, hanging out on the couch changes to hanging out with new friends and working out 2 times a week turns into working out 4 or 5 times a week. Your job is to continue to evolve in the direction that keeps you living your best life. Everything you’re putting energy into being today is creating who you are becoming tomorrow. So make good choices.
Okay, you’ve got this, get clear on your fitness goals, get into the gym, make small changes, build on those and create larger bigger changes that lead to healthy choices for you living your best life.
I’ll see you in class!
