Masks Off For Those Vaccinated
June 14, 2021
This update letter is to announce another positive milestone in getting our lives back from COVID-19 thanks to the members and staff of Ballard Health Club.
We started a new procedure on June 5th of BHC staff issuing a green silicon wristband to those that voluntarily showed us their vaccination record at the front desk. Our goal was to reach an 80% verified vaccination rate of members using the club, and we have now reached that goal.
The last guidance from King County stated that people inside should continue to wear masks because there was “no practical way to know who is or is not vaccinated”. Clearly, we have resolved that issue at BHC.
As of today, we will allow those wearing the green BHC vaccination wristband the option of removing their mask and not being concerned with distancing themselves from other individuals wearing a BHC vaccination wristband.
Those who are not wearing the wristband will still be required to wear a mask at all times and continue to social distance at least 6 feet from others.
It is very important to state that I completely respect the decision of anyone that has decided not to be vaccinated at this time. However, I am also responsible for the safety and peace of mind of our member population and our BHC staff, and that is why we will still require masks and distancing for those not vaccinated.
We are going to expand our offering of giving a green vaccination wristband to anyone in Ballard that shows a picture ID and a vaccination record to our staff at the front desk. The idea here is to help people in the broader community show others they have been vaccinated as we start taking our masks off.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me.
Thank you for being a part of the Ballard Health Club community,
Sincerely,
