Member Spotlight - Ashley Hiruko & Aaron Kunkler
How long have you been a member at Ballard Health Club?
We joined last December. We'd been members at other gyms in the past, but really liked the vibe of the Ballard Health Club when we toured it.
Why do you work out?
Our bodies weren't as strong as they used to be, after more than two years of working from home during the pandemic. Working out also helps to prepare us for our regular hiking and camping adventures, and helps to mitigate the stress we accrue at work.
What do you do to work out?
We religiously attend Ivana's barre and circuit training classes and also pop in once or twice more during the week to lift weights or run.
What in the gym has worked for you in attaining your goals?
The instructors are supportive and friendly.
Why do you choose to work out at BHC?
We love the welcoming atmosphere that encourages you to work out at your own pace and set your own goals. We've been to gyms where they weigh you during your first visit and are overly pushy. Neither of us wanted to go to a Globo Gym ripoff. The people that attend this gym don't fit one cookie-cutter stereotype of what a gym rat looks like. They're people of all ages, races, and genders.
What is your favorite piece of equipment, exercise or class to do in the gym or at home?
