Studio X, Y and Z, New Benches, OnePass, Personal Training Gift

November, 2024

Dear Members,

The renovation to Studio X and Z was completed earlier this month. Most of the work on the project was on the weekends and at night. This way, our workers, (including yours truly), would stay out of the way of our members using the club as much as possible.  As a follow-up to opening up of the walls, we are now organizing places for all the Studio X equipment. Our plan is to mount racks on the interior walls of Studio X to store the equipment. The racks will allow us to clear everything from the floor and back wall allowing for a more expanded floor space in Studio X, leaving a clear 48 foot wide mirror wall in the back of Studio X / Z.

Eight new Precor adjustable benches will be arriving at the Club today. By the time you read this, it’s likely they will be on the floor replacing the older Precor benches we have been using for many years.  We will be selling our old Precor benches along with several other items that we no longer need.  If you have any interest in the benches email Kyle at kyle@ballardhealthclub.com

With Studio X is no longer used for classes, so we have started to enhance Studio Y to allow more fitness stations. We have installed a beam and TRX mounts for TRX stations during circuit classes.

This item is specifically for our seniors. I was recently notified by a member who had received a letter from their Kaiser Medicare Advantage plan stating their fitness benefit was changing from Silver & Fit to OnePass as of January 1st, 2025. At the time of this news, I had no idea what OnePass was. After doing some research, I learned that OnePass is owned by United Health Care, which also handles our Renew Active senior fitness program. We are now in negotiations with United Health Care on the possibility of taking on the OnePass program. We will keep our seniors updated on this process.

If you are looking for a gift idea for friends or family, our Fitness Director, Kyle Hyde, has created a special Personal Training Packaged deal just in time for holiday gift giving. The package is a well thought out combination of services that will greatly enhance someone’s fitness efforts in a short time. As we begin our holiday season, I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving
