Reopening Milestones

June 5, 2021

Dear Members,

It has been a very liberating experience to once again open our doors and have members showing up anytime during the day to work out at the Club.

Reopening milestones:

  • May 24th - Club opens to allow access at any time during our business hours

  • June 1st – Showers and full towel service returns - Locker Rooms Fully Open

  • June 4th – Saunas opened (one member at a time  with proof of vaccination)

  • June 4th – Our first “post-COVID” in-studio class

  • August 1st – Club will have 24/7 access as we did pre-COVID

As we slowly migrate out of the COVID-19 experience we have been living in for so long, we are establishing a way for our members to show others they have been vaccinated. This is to help prepare us for the time when masks will no longer be required.  The details of that method are described here > www.ballardhealthclub.com/vaccination.

I wholeheartedly agree that people have a right to choose between getting vaccinated or not. We live in a free country and that is our individual right. However, I am responsible for establishing  an environment that is safe and feels safe for all members in our Club, and as such I strongly support our members being vaccinated.

We will open our men’s and women’s saunas to be used one person at a time. You may book a visit to the sauna here > www.ballardhealthclub.com/sauna or ask at the front desk for availability. Because of the relatively small, unventilated space of saunas, we require members to be vaccinated to use them at this time.

We get asked quite a bit about when we will have in-studio classes again. We do have our first one on June 4th (Zumba) and we will continue to add them based on what our instructors want and on feedback from people who have been attending virtual classes this past year. Based on this feedback, some classes may be completely moved in-studio while other classes will be kept online. For classes that have a strong feeling both ways (wanting in-studio AND online), we are working on making that a “hybrid” class and allowing the option of attending the class either online or in-studio.

We will certainly keep you posted as we continue to transition out of COVID and people feel more comfortable attending classes in person.

Looking forward to seeing more of you coming back to the Club!

Sincerely,

Pat Gilbrough
