Summer Time
July 25, 2019
Here we are in the midst of summer and I know you hear it: The Call of the Wild. The call of every bit of nature in our awe-inspiring Northwest. My response and I hope yours, is the rebel yell that says YES!
I’m the Class Director here at BHC and I want you in our classes, that’s my job. But I also want you to live to your fullest and find that healthy balance between work, working out, and living well; I believe that’s my real job. “Live your best life” is how I often end my classes because that is what I think you should do. And usually spending time in nature is going to up your game in overall happiness. So, get out there, go for a walk, go for a hike, get on the water and add in the camping gear. Do something that connects you to our amazing planet and then get back in the gym and recommit to your fitness goals.
Summer is a great time to shake it up and go with the flow of the season but it’s also a time to check in. Are you ready for that hike? Do you need to build up your cycling stamina to prepare for a big ride? This is a great time to tap into that summer energy and get your fitness on.
In between the weekend destinations and summer vacations we have the classes that will keep you healthy. We have the cardio classes to support your hikes, and the cycling classes to support your training. We’re bringing back myofascial (MFR) release on Mondays at 6:45pm with Helen. Myofascial Release is an effective hands-on technique using Yoga Tune Up balls ® that involves applying gentle and sustained pressure into connective tissues and tight muscles to eliminate pain and restore motion. Show up after a long weekend of fun and workout your sore muscles and tight joints for some serious ball rolling.
And if you’re in Ballard for the weekend, meet us for Yoga in the Park at the Ballard Commons Park at 10am on Saturdays from July 20th until Sept 14th.
I hope you are enjoying all that the season and Ballard has to offer. I’ll see you in class!
