How long have you been a member at Ballard Health Club?
I think I joined BHC in 2007.
What is your favorite piece of equipment or exercise to do in the gym?
Elliptical cardio machine.
Why do you work out?
I primarily work out because I love how I feel after I finish my work out. Working out adds structure to my day, gives me a chance to be in an energetic and motivated environment with like-minded people and, of course, working out gives me a chance to have a piece of chocolate cake every once in a while.
What do you do to work out?
I use the Cardio machines at BHC and, on days I do not work out at BHC, I walk 2 miles a day.
What in the gym has worked for you in attaining your goals?
For years, I ran on the treadmill at BHC and loved that. Now, I prefer the elliptical and am going to schedule some time with a trainer to work on upper body stuff to add to my workout.
Why do you choose to work out at BHC?
To me, what makes BHC different than any other health club in Seattle is the Staff and Pat. Every BHC staff member is a professional, interested in the BHC members' goals and very friendly. A BHC staff member ALWAYS welcomes me and ALWAYS says "have a good day" on my way out of the club. I was so impressed by Pat's commitment to the members during the COVID closures. Pat and his staff did everything possible to ensure the members' safety while also trying his best to keep the club open. I am so grateful to BHC always but most particularly during COVID. Going to BHC was a bright spot during the dark days of COVID.
Anything else you'd like to add?
I cannot imagine being a member of any other health club in Seattle.
