Update from Ballard Health Club - Gym Equipment Rental

May 21, 2020 (COVID-19 Temporary Closure)

Dear Members,

Based on Governor Inslee’s “Safe Start” plan, gyms are part of Phase 3 and he has stated there is a minimum of 3 weeks between each phase.  If Phase 2 starts at the beginning of June, we will be using sometime in late June for our planning purposes for when Phase 3 would begin. When Phase 3 starts, Ballard Health Club will once again be open.

We are continuing to keep memberships frozen during our temporary closure unless you have requested to be unfrozen to help the Club. If you received an email that your membership is going to be unfrozen and you do not want that to happen, please contact me by responding to this email. This automated process may occur to some members that individually froze their membership prior to March 16th. I genuinely want to thank those members who have unfrozen their memberships. I also want to thank those that have donated funds using our donation buttons on our website. Both ways of providing funds to the Club are greatly appreciated and have enabled us to pay our live streaming class instructors.

Please check out our live streaming classes available to everyone via the BHC website. Classes include Bootcamp, Circuit Training, Barre, Urban Latin Dance, Zumba, Pilates, Step, Yoga and Silver Classes to give you lots of variety to keep your exercise options fresh.  To view and/or participate in any of these classes – visit Live Streaming on our BHC website and use the corresponding password listed below to attend.

The live streaming classes have been free to attend but will be switched to requiring an active membership in the near future. Admittance to classes will be just like we required in the past. If you have a PLUS membership, you have unlimited access to classes. A Basic Membership or an Insurance Provided Membership (Silver Sneakers, Silver & Fit or Renew Active) allows you access to the Silver Classes.  Nonmembers may purchase a single visit or ten visit punch cards online from our BHC pricing page. Karen’s 8am 20-minute Warm-Up class Monday through Saturday will remain a free class but does require a BHC profile that may be created on line.

Ballard Health Club is starting a loaner program for our equipment for members that have allowed us to unfreeze their accounts and/or have paid donations.  The equipment that will be available is from our class studios and will be grouped into “packages”.  For example, a Barre package includes a ball, 1, 3, 5 lbs dumbbells, a loop band, and a strap. Members will pay a fully refundable deposit and may hold the equipment until it is requested back by BHC.  For more details, visit www.ballardhealthclub.com/gym-equipment.

The Club has been a lonely place without our members.  I look forward to having you all back soon!

Stay healthy and stay safe,

Pat Gilbrough
