Here’s our interview with Trainer Netto-

How did you know you wanted to become a personal trainer?

I knew I wanted to become a personal trainer after being a wrestling coach for my high school. I love showing people how to use and move their bodies and watch them improve!

What is one exercise you can’t live without?

One exercise I can’t live without is definitely the kettlebell swing! I love how it works the body and can be modified in so many ways.

What’s your favorite thing to coach a client through?

My favorite thing to coach a client through is learning how to use free weights! More specifically I enjoy coaching olympic and power lifts.

What is your best advice for someone just starting their fitness journey?

My best advice for someone just starting their fitness journey is to make sure you are taking it slow and creating a solid base of knowledge when it comes to form. Injury should never occur when lifting weights!

What hobbies do you enjoy outside of the gym?

I love Jiu-jitsu, hanging with my friends and going to local shows/performances around Seattle.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a personal trainer?

Before becoming a personal trainer I was an english teacher in Antigua, Guatemala. I found that very rewarding so I would probably be doing that but in a new country.

What’s the main thing you miss about being in the gym during quarantine?

The main thing I miss about the gym is all the equipment! Home workouts are totally doable and still great but I love being able to use barbells, kettlebells and dumbbells.

What has been your favorite quarantine activity?

My favorite quarantine activity has definitely been playing video games with my roommate and expanding my cooking skills!
