Meet Trainer Aeron!
Here are some fun facts you may not have known about Trainer Aeron:
How did you know you wanted to become a personal trainer?
I left a corporate job 13 years ago because I knew I wanted to support people in a more direct, hands on way. I knew from working in my corporate job that I felt joy in watching people and teams thrive, and I felt passionate about living an active, healthy lifestyle. Personal training and class instruction seemed like just the right arena for me!
What is one exercise you can’t live without?
The Pushup! It's an effective functional exercise that is easily scalable, that you can do anywhere, using only your body weight and working multiple muscle groups. It's also a great way to measure progress for core and upper body strength. Anyone can do a version of a pushup!
What’s your favorite thing to coach a client through?
Overcoming barriers and fears. We all have fears. It's an innate part of who we are. Many of us fear stepping into the unknown and not trusting that we can do "it" (whatever it is). I revel in helping people discover their entry point (or re-entry point) into fitness and watch them build on their success.
What is your best advice for someone just starting their fitness journey?
If you don't feel like doing it, do it anyway (at some level)! Just show up and do something. You will never regret a workout, a run, a ride, a walk, whatever it may be. And yes, you can do it!
What hobbies do you enjoy outside of the gym?
Outdoor adventures, travel, exploring the world of craft beer, cooking healthy meals, knitting squares (I'm currently rel-learning the craft) and enjoying time with friends & family (on Zoom!!)
What would you be doing if you weren’t a personal trainer?
Leading outdoor adventures!!
What’s the main thing you miss about being in the gym during quarantine?
Magical Moments. Moments where I witness members helping each other, connect with each other, laugh, get irritated with what's on TV, share stories, walk out of a class with a big sweaty smile, etc. I miss everyone and the genuine spirit of the BHC community.
What has been your favorite quarantine activity? - Chillax'n with my sweet chocolate lab Daisy - whether it be with a good book, meditation or Live workouts - she is there right by my side.
