Member Spotlight: Damon Huhta

How long have you been a member at Ballard Health Club? 

I have been a member since January 2022. 

Why do you work out? 

Health is wealth! I love the feeling after a good workout! I feel more confident and relaxed. It’s a great way to relieve stress and improve your quality of life. 

When you are at the gym, what do you do to work out?

I enjoy the free weights, pull-up machine, and kettlebells. I also really like the mats for stretching and core exercises.  I use the treadmill if the weather is bad. My main focus is increasing my strength to become a faster runner. 

What at BHC has worked for you for attaining your goals?

Consistency is the biggest thing. I really like the treadmills because I can run no matter the weather. Leg press, lunges with dumbbells, and squats with the kettlebell has also helped strengthen my legs for hiking and running. 

Why do you choose to work out at BHC?

I really like the 24-hour access so I never miss a workout. I also really like the staff and general vibe of the gym. It always feels clean and comfortable. 

What is your favorite piece of equipment, exercise, or class to do in the gym or at home?

My favorite exercise is running! I run a 5k everyday! I love running outside when it’s nice. I also really like to superset pull-ups and dips.
